Explora Patagonia is located at the center of the Torres del Paine National Park, the heart of Patagonia, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. On a privilege location at the shores of Lake Pehoe, the lodge offers breathtaking views of the Paine ridge and the granite towers.Its construction is based around essential luxuries, allowing the traveler to inhabit the remote location in its pristine essence without distractions. Warm and natural wood plays a fundamental role in its design, with species such as lenga, cypress and almendrillo.

Explora’s 49 rooms are designed to take full advantage of the silence, privacy, and vastness of the surrounding landscape, ensuring deep rest after a long day of exploration. Rooms are quiet and not equipped with TV sets or Wi-Fi, which is only available in the hotel’s common areas. 36 Cordillera Paine rooms (300 sq feet) have one king or two twin beds and fabulous views of Paine massif. 6 Exploradores Suites (450 sq feet) have a king bed and a comfortable seating area that offers prime views plus a luxurious en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries.
At Spa ONA, the massage room and pool area are located just 300 feet away from the main building. It is equipped with a heated, covered pool, sauna, and four open-air jacuzzis with views of the Pehoe Lake and Paine Massif.
Explora Patagonia is the only hotel in the area with its own stables and horses, bred and trained especially for each traveler’s horse expeditions. The 26 horses of different breeds and crosses have been raised in the Ibáñez family estate in the central valley of Chile.
Explora offers dozens of explorations: on foot or on horse, half-day or full day, at all difficulty levels. Groups of no more than eight people per guide. From November to March, the Lodge offers a 5-day program with fixed arrival dates and a 7-day itinerary over the year-end holidays. Before November and after March, Explora accepts arrivals on any day of the week with a minimum of 3 nights.
Along with its pristine landscapes, Patagonia is home to the peculiar and legendary gaucho culture. 33 miles from the hotel, at the 2 de Enero Ranch, you can share a mate with them; participate in the shearing of the sheep, the driving of the livestock, horse breaking and other traditional activities on this 14,830-hectare ranch, property of Explora.
