There is no national park in South America as iconic or pristine as Torres del Paine. Visitors who choose to go there are seeking out nature in its purest and most awesome form. Awasi Patagonia is the only lodge in the proximity of Torres del Paine that offers an experience 100% tailor-made around their guests’ preferences and pace. Twelve sumptuous individual villas are each assigned their own 4×4 vehicle and private guide, allowing guests to explore the region in a private fashion, doing what they please, on their own timetable.Awasi Patagonia is situated inside a private reserve offering imposing views of the Torres del Paine peaks on the horizon and Lake Sarmiento. The unique location was chosen as its privacy, outstanding views, and protection from the strong Patagonian winds by a luxuriant native forest of local species of birch, nirres and lengas – brimming with indigenous fauna such as guanacos, nandus, foxes, condors and the occasional puma.
Inspired by old Patagonian shelters and ranching outposts, the 12 rustic but elegant villas (one of these is a two bedroom villa for families) are distributed in such a way as to ensure the utmost privacy while each being situated to maximize the surreal views around them. Each of the villas has their own outdoor wood-fired soaking hot tub to enjoy after a long day of excursions around the park.
A short distance from the villas are the common areas overlooking the majestic scenery, which include the restaurant, reception desk and comfortable lounges replete with crackling oversized fireplaces. Guests can choose to walk a short distance between their villas and the common areas or request transportation by electric vehicles. The cuisine is overseen by Executive Chef Federico Ziegler, who has worked at several Michelin-star restaurants both in Europe and South America, and is known for his ability to seamlessly blend local ingredients into gastronomy of international standards.
Awasi Patagonia offers guests the advantage of being able to choose from excursions not only within the National Park but also unique exclusive excursions around the Awasi Patagonia private reserve by simply walking out of their villa. In all, guests have the freedom to choose from over 24 half day and 13 full day excursions during their stay – ranging from 4×4 drives, hikes, horseback rides, boat trips, easy strolls, photographic safaris, wildlife seeking and bird watching.
