How to book a cruise
Southwind Adventures works with a hand-picked selection of upscale cruise ships in Latin America. Whether it’s a luxurious riverboat on the Peruvian Amazon, an expedition-style cruise in Patagonia, or a wildlife adventure aboard a small deluxe ship in the Galápagos Islands, our long-standing connections with boat owners allow us to offer unique availability on these in-demand vessels. Here’s how to book with us:
Step 1: Plan ahead
To ensure your spot on an amazing Amazon, Patagonia or Galápagos adventure, plan ahead! Space is very limited due to high demand year-round and the small number of quality options available, in addition to the small size of vessels and hotels/lodges. For families traveling together, options for cabins’ bed configurations are limited. Spaces can fill up 5 months or more in advance. We recommend making your reservation at least 4-6 months in advance (10-12 months in advance for popular vacation dates and holiday travel). The farther ahead you plan, the more options you’ll have in terms of size/kind of ship and departure dates.Step 2: Contact us
Email or call our Travel Consultants at 1-800-377-9463 to discuss your trip. According to your personal needs and expectations, Southwind will then send you a recommended outline itinerary and pricing to match your preferred dates.Step 3: Be ready to make a decision
Once you are ready to move forward, we can place a courtesy hold (without a deposit) on a preferred boat or hotel/lodge for one week while we fine tune your other itinerary components. The hold could last less than a week if dates overlap with holidays or peak season, or if you’re planning a short notice trip. Upon your final review and acceptance of the itinerary, a $1,500 per person deposit is required to secure your reservations within this period of time; otherwise held space is automatically released. If you need a few extra days to make a decision and place a deposit, we may be able to extend the hold. However, we cannot guarantee more time as there could be other travelers waiting for the space to be released. All Southwind cruises
